Open letter to fellow veteran models

Administrator March 19, 2017

By Natalia Zurowski

This is a love letter to all the modelling veterans. To those who have put in their time and know the industry like the back of their hand. To those who have lived and breathed what it means to be an international, working model. As models get older, some decide the industry is no longer for them - others have the industry decide for them. For those who have been able to maintain longevity, you begin to develop a new set of attitudes and principles in how you deal with the business.

18 signs you're in a model apartment

Administrator September 2, 2016

By Natalia Zurowski

When a model goes on a contract overseas, they usually end up staying in a model apartment (an apartment owned or rented by the agency and then rented or subletted to the models). Model apartments start off as being fun, exciting, and an excellent way to forge new bonds with yours agency peers. Over time, especially as models get older, the novelty wears off.

You arrive, once again, to a new market (or one you've been to before) and take the metro or taxi to your new temporary home. You open the door and your physical reaction is to turn around and run back in the other direction. You tell yourself, "Next time I'll get my own apartment." You've made this pledge to yourself before.

Here we go again!

Things to Not Say to a Model

Administrator May 31, 2016

By Natalia Zurowski

Models get asked a fair amount of questions about the industry and the nature of their work. Most of the time, we don't mind answering these questions and are happy to debunk industry myths and stereotypes. We do, however, get some pretty thoughtless questions and unsolicited advice. As such, we have compiled a list of questions and comments models hear a little too frequently.
