Still feeling the August lull in Los Angeles? Check out "Never Built: Los Angeles," a fascinating exhibit at the Architecture and Design Museum on Wilshire Boulevard.

It is a collection of works that shows what LA could have been with dozens of proposals (blueprints, renderings, hand-drawings, etc.) on display. The exhibit showcases how even rejected projects of the past can be reinterpreted as art and inspire the future.

The Architecture and Design Museum is at 6032 Wilshire Boulevard. Open Tuesday to Friday, 11.00-17.00; Saturday to Sunday 12.00–18.00. Until 13 October.
