The Big Smoothie Debate


According to expert nutritionist and Fashion Telegraph columnist, Ian Marber,  extended juice fasts can be taxing on your liver due to the high intake of fructose. Even if you don't add sugar to your smoothie, the naturally occurring fructose in the fruit can lead to a whole host of health problems- including weight gain and type 2 diabates. 

But don't go and toss out your Vitamix or Magic Bullet! Smoothies can be very healthy so long as you remember to add vegetables, dilute them with water, eat some nuts, and "as with all food, don't over do it."
